  • Surveillance Cameras And Surveillance Cards

    Chris Hall asked:

With the cost reduction in computer hardware and software, items that used to be for the rich and wealthy are now within the reach of the average consumer. Virtually every suburban house in America now has a security system installed. But theft still runs rampant in these houses. So what is the solution to the problem.

Many people have turned to Surveillance Camera systems. These systems were previously connected to a looping videocassette recorder system or tape system and took up considerable space and cost a considerable amount of money.

The current systems on the market from Geovision and others allow you to use your home PC with an upgraded video surveillance card to record all the happenings in your home. No longer will you need to worry about the people attending your party or that wayward concern that the nanny is not taking proper care of your children. With the current systems available from Geovision and other manufactures. A standard computer system can be converted into a complete surveillance system.

You simply mount a Surveillance card supplied by Geovision into your computer. Then run the cable from the Geovision Surveillance Camera to the Card and you are ready to begin your integrated home surveillance. With the proper Internet connection for your Surveillance Camera system you will be able to log into the IP port and watch the video on the camera.

With an upgraded Geovision surveillance card you will be able to connect up to sixteen cameras for surveillance, not just the single card from the old VCR days. Your limitation on the amount of video you capture is limited to your hard drive space.

The Digital Video Recording occurs in a compact format allowing you to capture days of video on a terrabyte drive. This video can then be exported for future keeping and documentation or deleted.

How hard is the system to install is a genuinely unique question and varies by manufacturer. Geovision a prime manufacturer for these systems sells surveillance cameras and surveillance cards that can be installed in a matter of hours. With simple drills and screwdrivers you can mount the surveillance cameras and run the proper power lines and computer cables to your computer.

Plug in the surveillance card and power up your windows XP system and within minutes you will begin receiving the signals from the surveillance cameras. Properly divide your hard drive and start collecting the DVR signals from the camera’s. With up to sixteen cameras per system you should have adequate coverage of any household.

No longer will you need to wonder if the babysitters boyfriend is over while you are out, as you will have recorded evidence you can review when you get home. The surveillance camera will send the babysitters every move to the surveillance card, which will convert the signal to a personal computer recordable signal.

The current costs of the surveillance card and surveillance cameras have put this technology within the financial grasp of virtually all American households. Companies with easy install systems have made the systems available to the masses. So you will no longer worry about items in your house or businesses being unwatched while you are away.

    mastab0323 asked:

I am moving into a new home that already have a security system installed, I just want to activate it. Who should I use? I have heard of Brinks and ADT but have no idea if they are good. Any suggestions? Or should I stick with Brinks or ADT? Thanks!

how can I find people who need a security alarm system for their home or business?

    bigbusiness asked:

I work for ADT Security Services.
My job is to go out and knock on peoples doors and find those who are interested in a free alarm system for their home, with installation include. There is a $99 activation fee and they have to pay monitoring fees of about $30-$50 per month.

How can I find local people that are searching for something like this without having to knock on doors. I really want to generate sales without having to knock on doors.

More like people calling me interested to join instead.
    Please help.

    Thank you in advance.

Five Ways to Use Video Surveillance

    Wendy Moyer asked:

Video surveillance is a type of security system that has been used for various reasons for many years. Security cameras have become a normalcy in today’s society, as banks, retail stores, retirement homes, and other public places have come to rely on the cameras.

There are many different situations that would benefit from the implication of video surveillance.

    1-Retail Stores and Shops

Retail stores are often targeted for theft, so it makes sense that having prominently placed security cameras throughout the store would help to prevent theft as well as help to identify those who are able to get away with stealing.

Retail shops and stores that have video surveillance are also giving their customers the message that they care about security as well as the safety of their customers, thus improving the store’s overall image.

    2-Homes and Residential Areas

Your private home will undoubtedly benefit from the flexible and easy to install IP cameras. These cameras simply need to be mounted, and then you’re ready to use them. There’s no need for power tools, and no need to bring in a professional.

Having video surveillance throughout your home helps to prevent theft, as the presence of visible cameras deters thieves. If a theft does occur, then you will be able to use your video cameras to identify the criminal.

    3-Health Care

While having video surveillance in health care facilities may not at first make sense, there are very good reasons for this type of enhanced security in hospitals, clinics and doctors’ offices.

Video surveillance can help to protect patients’ security and medical information, as well as preventing theft of medical supplies that can range from tongue depressors to hi-tech equipment and prescription medication.

4-Child Care Facilities and Day Cares

While the number of children in child care facilities continues to rise, there is an increasing need for security in these institutions.

Wireless IP cameras are extremely easy to install, so these facilities would not need to call in the help and advice of a professional. Video surveillance systems help to protect employees as well as the children who are under their care.

5-Retirement Homes and Elder Care Facilities

Security cameras help to protect residents and employees from unwanted and unwelcome intruders. Also, video surveillance helps to secure the building.

However, security cameras should be limited to public areas throughout the retirement homes in order to maintain a respectable and decent level of security.
